    Gokarna Tourism - An Small Town On Arabian Sea
    Trip to Gokarna is something you cannot refuse to taste. Gokarna, a small pilgrimage town in Karnataka has grown into a tourist destination over the years, thanks to its stretch of beautiful, sandy beaches. With the advent of foreigners thronging it, it no longer remains a quaint temple town, but a thriving vacation spot  Earlier known only for its famous Mahabaleshwar Temple, Gokarna gained popularity on the travel map through its secluded and laid back beaches (Gokarna Beach, Kudle Beach, Om Beach, Half Moon Beach and Paradise Beach) as laid back as Goa, only less commercial.

     

    Gokarna Trip Itinerary
    Day 0 - Friday
    08:00 pm - Departure From Deccan.

    Day 1 - Saturday

    Have Breakfast & Tea On the Way
    Visit To Yana Caves
    After Yana Caves move towards Gokarna and Check in
    Trek to Paradise Beach
    Sunset at Jatayu teerth/ Kudle beach
    Post Sunset visit Mahabaleshwar Temple Gokarna & Gokarna Market
    Back to hostel and rest for the day
    Day 2 - Sunday

    Early morning start Traveling Mangroove Forest
    Have Breakfast and Tea on the way
    Visit Murudeshwara - Highest Shiva Temple
    Visit to Jog falls
    Post Sunset start Traveling Towards Pune  city.
    Day 3 - Monday
    Reach Pune by 6 - 8 AM

     

    Travel suggestions for Mumbai participants
    Option 1 - By Train

    Vande Bharat Train (22225) – Cost around 550-650/-

    16:05 CSMT
    16:15 Dadar
    16:33 Thane
    16:53 Kalyan
    19:10 Pune
    From Pune station you can catch Metro till Chhatrapati Sambhaji Gardan or Deccan Gymkhana (Metro fare around 15rs).
    Both stations are 5 mins walk from bus starting point Deccan.

     

    Option 2 – By Road

    You can get shared cab from Dadar, Vashi. (Cost around 500rs). If you are coming by share cab, you can catch our bus from Navale bridge or Katraj.
    MSRTC Shivneri buses also available from Dadar. Note – Buses take around 5-6hrs, as the halt at multiple stops and for food break at Lonavala. So if you are planning to come by bus then please accordingly. If you are coming by bus then get down at Pune station depo / Swargate depo (as per your bus destination), and from there take auto to deccan.
    Best Time to Visit Gokarna:

    The best time to visit Gokarna is during the winter months, from October to March. This is when the weather is pleasant, and the surroundings are lush and colorful. Most tourists prefer late November to early February for their visits. Summers, from March to June, can be hot and humid, while the monsoon season, from July to September, brings daily rain. October to March is the warmest period, but April and May can be sticky. After the rains, from September to December, is perfect for water sports enthusiasts. Gokarna's tranquil charm, along with its adrenaline-pumping activities, makes it a must-visit destination. Explore ancient temples, trek, watch mesmerizing sunsets, or simply relax on the serene beaches of Gokarna.

     

    How to Reach Gokarna:

    By Air:

    Nearest airport is Dabolim International Airport in Goa.
    Distance from Goa to Gokarna is about 157 kilometers.
    After landing in Goa, you can hire a taxi to reach Gokarna.
    The airport provides good connectivity to major Indian cities.
    By Train:

    Gokarna has its own railway station called Gokarna Road.
    The station is located approximately 8 kilometers away from the town.
    Limited trains pass through Gokarna Road station.
    Alternative nearby railway stations include Kumta (31 km) and Ankola (20 km).

    By Road:

    Gokarna is accessible by road from various cities.
    Overnight buses are available from Bangalore, Mangalore, Udupi, and Goa.
    You can also take direct buses from Mysore, Hyderabad, Panjim, Hubli, and Kochi.
    If you prefer driving, you can hire a personal cab or car from these cities for a scenic journey to Gokarna.
