Naggar is well-connected by road and is easily accessible from major cities in the region. The nearest airport is in Bhuntar, about 50 kilometers. From Bhuntar, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach. 

It is also connected to the national highway and is easily accessible by bus from cities like Delhi, Shimla, and Manali.

The best & cheapest way to get here is to take a bus from Delhi or Chandigarh to Manali. Get down at the bus stand and then take a local bus from Manali; it will take about an hour to reach Manali.

Alternatively, you can even take a cab from Manali & reach in 30-45 mins.

  1. Visit the Naggar Castle: Built in the 1460s, the Naggar Castle is a historical monument now used as a heritage hotel. The castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is a great place to learn about the history.
  2. Hike to Rumsu Village: One of the lesser-known hikes is the Rumsu village. Located at a distance of 4-5 kms, you can also reach this place via a local cab. However, we recommend taking the trail from Naggar through the forest and reaching Rumsu village. The trek offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys and takes you through picturesque villages and dense forests.
  3. Visit Soil village & Sajla Waterfall: A highly-recommend “Thing To Do” is Soil village & Sajla waterfall. You can reach about 10-15 km here via Shared cab or local buses. Sajla waterfall is like a hidden gem, an isolated but must-visit waterfall. A few kms away from Sajla waterfall is the Soil village, where you can camp overnight & experience the remoteness and quietness of Himachal and enjoy the rawness of the Kullu region. 
  4. Day Trip to Sissu: After the recently opened-up Atal Tunnel, Sissu is now easily accessible from Manali. You can take a local cab or take a bus to Manali & then take a shared cab to Sissu from Manali or take one of the local buses to Keylong, which will drop you on the way. In Sissu, you can visit the amazing Sissu waterfall & the Sissu lake and visit the monastery.   
  5. Explore the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery: The Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery is a Himalayan folk art museum and is a must-visit for art lovers. The gallery houses a collection of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art by the famous Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, who lived here for many years.

However, the waterfall can also be visited during the winter, when it is frozen, presenting a different but equally stunning sight.

If you want to experience snowfall, December to February are the best time to visit. The weather is cold, with temperatures ranging from -10°C to 5°C, and there is a good chance of snowfall.

If you want to enjoy the beautiful spring weather, March to May is an excellent time to visit. The weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C.

The monsoon season, from June to September, is not a good time to visit as the region receives heavy rainfall, making it difficult to enjoy outdoor activities.
