Yunam Peak at 6111 M is a stunning trekkable peak located in the Lahaul district of Himachal Pradesh near the famous Baralacha La Pass. Though it is less frequently climbed, Yunam Peak is a great alternative to the likes of Stok Kangri and Kang Yatse 2 in Ladakh. The summit offers fantastic views of the C.B. Range and the Mulkilla Range with views stretching as far as Zanskar. However, this trek to Yunam Peak is difficult and is meant for experienced trekkers only due to the high altitude gain and bone-chilling winds as you make your way up to the summit across moraines and scree. The Yunam Peak Expedition is a great choice for aspiring mountaineers who wish to summit a peak that is not as crowded like Stok Kangri. Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Manali
Day 2: Manali to Jispa (3200 M) - 120 km, 6 hrs Drive
Day 3: Jispa to Bharatpur (4500 M) - 90 km, 5 hrs Drive
Day 4: Acclimatisation in Bharatpur (4500 M)
Day 5: Bharatpur to Base Camp (5200 M) - 5 km, 4 hrs Trek
Day 6: Acclimatization at Base Camp
Day 7: Base Camp to Summit (6111 M) and back to Base Camp - 6.5 km, 8 hrs
Day 8: Base Camp to Bharatpur. Drive to Manali.
